Reigning UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes solidified her spot as the greatest female fighter of all time last night (Sat., July 6, 2019) at UFC 239 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when she finished former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm via first-round TKO (head kick and punches).
Holm attacked early with leg and oblique kicks as Nunes tried to load up on her right hand. The champion missed her first few attempts but ended up connecting on a hard right head kick that planted Holm on the ground. As Holm tried to return to her feet Nunes rushed in for a right hand that connected flush on the former champ’s jaw. A few more shots was all that was needed for the referee to step in and award the stoppage to “Lioness.”
