Daniel Cormier made history this past weekend (Sat., July 7, 2018) at UFC 226 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, finishing UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic via first-round knockout.
As a result, “DC” becomes just the second fighter in UFC history two simultaneously hold two belts (Conor McGregor is the other).
It looked like Miocic was going to use his size and reach to keep Cormier at bay, but the UFC Light Heavyweight champion pushed his way inside and finally caught Miocic with a ridiculous right hand. Miocic fell to the canvas and “DC” jumped on top for ferocious ground-and-pound that put the heavyweight champ to sleep.

With this performance, Cormier puts himself among the greats to ever do it. His next stop will be against WWE superstar Brock Lesnar later this year, especially after Lesnar shoved “DC” inside of the cage at UFC 226, so things should only get more interesting from this point on.
