The finishes kept piling in earlier tonight (Sat., May 12, 2018) at UFC 224 from inside Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as Brazilian middleweight Cezar Ferreira stopped undefeated striker Karl Roberson via first-round arm triangle choke.
Roberson didn’t last long in this fight before Ferreira took him to the ground and controlled all of the action. The talented striker didn’t even have the chance to throw much of anything, mostly fighting off his back and avoiding follow-up takedowns. Once “Mutante” was able to stifle Roberson’s defense he stepped over into side control and quickly locked in a tight arm triangle choke.

With this performance, Ferreira secures his third UFC submission finish and pushes his divisional record to 5-1 since returning from welterweight in 2016. “Mutante” has always been a talented middleweight capable of long dominant stretches so it’ll be interesting to see where this recent finish takes him.
