Knockout! Watch Alexander Hernandez score upset KO of Beneil Dariush at UFC 222

The debut of UFC newcomer Alexander Hernandez went down without a hitch earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 3, 2018) at UFC 222 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the up-and-coming lightweight brutally finished seasoned veteran Beneil Dariush with a 42-second knockout.

Evident by the amount of time it took Hernandez to finish this fight, Dariush didn’t land anything of significance. He took a big risk in fighting a young unknown fighter like Hernandez on short notice and it came back to bite him. Hernandez quickly moved in for the kill, stepped in with a slick left punch/forearm and instantly put Dariush out.

With this performance, Hernandez enters the UFC’s 155-pound division in devastating fashion. Most fight fans had no idea who “The Great” was before UFC 222, but they’re going to be paying close attention moving into the second half of 2018. We’ll have to wait and see what else Hernandez can do inside of the cage considering this fight ended so quickly.
