Just one week after he lamented about the level of pay he received as a UFC fighter, John Cholish revealed that he donated his final paycheck, $2,014, to victims of the tornado that recently ripped through Moore, Oklahoma. And he still has to compensate those who helped him prepare for the final fight of his MMA career.

It may not seem like much, but the residents of Moore, Okla., who were displaced and devastated by the F5-level natural disaster are more than likely grateful. In fact, Cholish estimated shortly after his final appearance inside the Octagon that he would actually be around $10,000 to 15,000 in the hole once all the final expenses were taken away from his $8,000 show money.

Indeed, when asked by one of his follower's on Twitter if the $2,014 paycheck was after he paid his trainers, Cholish revealed the sum was his net gain.

But, he's not complaining:

Perhaps even White might change his tune, too.

Vitor Belfort could face the winner of Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman for the promotion's middleweight title next. And its a fight Dana White would have no problem promoting in Las Vegas, Nevada, even though Belfort has TRT-related issues with state athletic commission.

Whether he asked for it or not, Vitor Belfort could be next in line for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight title.

Speaking at yesterday's (May 23, 2013) media scrum (watch full video here), company president Dana White alluded to the possibility that "The Phenom" could be next in line for another 185-pound title shot after his first round knockout of Luke Rockhold last weekend (May 18, 2013) at UFC on FX 8.

The win marked the Brazilian's second straight knockout victory inside the Octagon and his fourth straight victory in the division which, as a result, shot him up the division rankings.

His lone 185-pound loss came to current champion Anderson Silva at UFC 126 two years ago. And should Silva defeat Chris Weidman at UFC 162 on July 7, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Belfort might get his rematch against the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world.

White's words:

"There's no plans right now with Vitor. He just fought. We'll see what happens. We got another fight this weekend, we'll see what happens. It would make sense for [Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman] fight, and that's not far away. Those two fight, and we see what happens, or Vitor could fight again. I don't know. But he could fight either one of those guys."

While "The Phenom" hasn't competed in "Sin City" since his loss to "The Spider," Las Vegas could be the prime spot to hold a potential rematch between the two Brazilian strikers.

Belfort's last two bouts have taken place in his home country of Brazil, which is the reason many in the mixed martial arts (MMA) community have concluded it's all a plan to avoid licensing issues. Indeed, Belfort would require a medical exemption to compete in the United States because of his ongoing, and controversial, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

One that Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) Executive Director Keith Kizer didn't seem optimistic about issuing to Belfort because of a failed test for steroids at Pride 32 back in 2006.

White, however, dismisses any conspiracy theories:

"We're not keeping Vitor out of fighting from anywhere. We had Vitor fight in Brazil because Vitor sells out in Brazil. It's all a bunch of conspiracy theory crock of shit. It's not that they're (Nevada State Athletic Commission) going to have a problem licensing him. They're going to rake him over the coals is what they're going to do."

After revealing he has been on TRT prior to his knockout win over Michael Bisping at UFC on FX 7, Belfort has been under heavy criticism. And the results of his last two dominant wins have only turned up the heat on the former Light Heavyweight champion.

"The Phenom" recently lashed out in response to the incessant criticism, going as far to request that a reporter "get a beat down" for harping on the issue during a recent post-fight press conference.

But, according to White, Belfort was tested before and after his bout against Rockhold and expects everything to come out fine once the results are back in:

"The whole TRT thing with Vitor has just become this huge -- people are going after Vitor Belfort, is what they're doing. TRT is legal. Everybody knows that. Vitor Belfort was tested leading all the way up to the fight. He was tested during the fight. We're waiting for those results to come back, and I'm positive he's going to be fine."

Belfort has since apologized for his "immature" reaction to the TRT question. However, he may have to do much more than that before the NSAC if and when he applies for a license to compete in "Sin City."

Wrapping up the UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" event that took place on Sat., May 18, 2013, at the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil, featuring Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold and much, much more.

UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" blew the roof off the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil, this past Saturday night (May 18, 2013) featuring a main event of former champion Vitor Belfort doing his best to get back in the chase for the middleweight title by utterly decimating the debuting Luke Rockhold.

Strikeforce huh?

The co-headlining attraction saw Ronaldo Souza set himself up for bigger and better things at 185-pounds by tapping out Chris Camozzi in the very first round with a "Submission of the Night" winning arm-triangle choke.

The other two main card bouts saw Rafael Natal take out Octagon debutante Joao Zeferino in three less than enthusiastic rounds while Rafael dos Anjos slipped by Evan Dunham in a controversial lightweight scrap.

Did testosterone-replacement-therapy (TRT) play a role in Vitor Belfort's knockout victory in the UFC on FX 8 main event? Luke Rockhold says absolutely not.

"TRT had nothing to do with that kick."

-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Luke Rockhold stated it plain and simple at the UFC on FX 8 post-fight press conference (watch it here) on Saturday night (May 18, 2013): the fact Vitor Belfort is a user of testosterone-replacement-therapy (TRT) had nothing to with his defeat to "The Phenom" in Brazil. There is a large contingent of fans crediting TRT as the main factor in Belfort's first-round head kick knockout victory over Rockhold in the UFC on FX 8 main event, but the former Strikeforce champion quickly shut down that notion, saying the kick had "nothing to do" with the fact he lost the fight. Rockhold's humble attitude is something to be commended, but an argument can be made that without TRT, Belfort would have had significantly less speed, power and ferocity on the fight-ending kick; however, that's just hearsay without any factual evidence.

There are a lot of excuses being made for Rockhold after the fight because Belfort is on TRT, but if he has no quarrels with how it all went down -- then why do you?

UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" took place Saturday night (May 18, 2013) in Brazil, with Vitor Belfort defeating Luke Rockhold by knockout in the main event. Also on the main card; Ronaldo Souza, Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Natal picked up victories over their respective opponents.

Any time a fighter as accomplished as Vitor Belfort steps in the Octagon, there is always something factual of note to bring up.

In the case of "The Phenom," his name in the sport for more than a decade has been built around being one of the most dangerous first-round fighters in not just the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), but in all of mixed martial arts (MMA).

The Brazilian proved once again exactly why he has that stigma attached to him on Saturday night (May 18, 2013) with an absolutely devastating first-round head kick knockout of former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the UFC on FX 8 main event.

The incredible win improved Belfort to 5-1 since dropping to 185-pounds in 2008 and further extended his record for most first-round finishes in UFC history, which only adds to the Hall-of-Fame worthy resume The Brazilian has put together.

Belfort's ability to finish opponents in the first round time after time is unlike anyone else in the sport -- that's a fact.

But there were also plenty of other facts to come out of UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold," which took place at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil on May 18, 2013.

Check out all 25 of them below:

Belfort is the first fighter in history to win two-straight UFC fights by head kick knockout.
Playing fantasy matchmaker is one of the most enjoyable things to do for mixed martial arts (MMA) fans, and with UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" behind us, we put ourselves in Joe Silva's shoes to play matchmaker for both event's main card winners.

UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" is in the books and in the organization's second event in Brazil of 2013, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) delivered a tremendous night of mixed martial arts (MMA) action that was filled with submissions and knockouts.

Vitor Belfort, Ronaldo Souza, Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Natal were the big winners Saturday night (May 18, 2013) at Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil., as each picked up a victory over their respective opponents on the main card, which aired on FX.

After every fight card, fans wonder who the winners will be matched up with next. With another night of heart-racing fights in the rear-view mirror, it's time to look forward and put ourselves in Joe Silva's shoes to play UFC matchmaker.

Winner: Rafael Natal
Who He Should Fight Next: Brad Tavares
Why They Should Fight: Natal and Tavares are both hovering in the thick of the pack in the middleweight division and with only one defeat in each of their past six UFC bouts, they seem destined to fight each other.

Both men appear to be injury-free at this point, which means the timing would line up perfectly for them to face off in what would be an exciting middleweight contest between two fighters looking to emerge from the middle-tier of the weight class.

While "Sapo" has had more success on the ground in his career; the Brazilian, like Tavares, enjoys a good stand-up slugfest and there's a very good chance that's what the fans would get when you throw the two 185-pound competitors in the cage together.

Both men have a lot of momentum behind them with two and three-fight win-streaks inside the Octagon, respectively -- and only will continue to move forward while the loser goes back to the drawing board.

Winner: Rafael Dos Anjos
Who He Should Fight Next: Josh Thomson
Why They Should Fight: As mentioned in Joe Silva's Shoes for UFC on FOX 7 last month, dos Anjos vs. Thomson would be a doozy of a match up.

With a win over a top-five opponent in Nate Diaz in his UFC re-entry fight, Thomson, like dos Anjos, is looking to climb the ladder in the lightweight until he reaches the top.

Thomson showed in his UFC on FOX 7 victory over Diaz that his skills are as sharp as ever and facing dos Anjos next would make for a high-level 155-pound affair that would be a very exciting fight to watch.

Even though his victory over Evan Dunham was controversial, dos Anjos is on the second longest win-streak in the lightweight division and needs a true test for his next fight.

In Thomson's case, he needs to continue to defeat top-10 competition if he hopes to get a title shot.

Regardless of how the fight played out, dos Anjos vs. Thomson would be a great match up that has potential to be "Fight of the Night" no matter which card it ends up on.

Winner: Ronaldo Souza
Who He Should Fight Next: Winner of Tim Boetsch vs. Mark Munoz at UFC 162
Why They Should Fight: The man they call "Jacare" has been waiting an extremely long time to etch his name in the UFC win column and on Saturday he did just that with a first-round submission of Chris Camozzi.

While the win doesn't do as much for Souza as it would have if he were to defeat his originally scheduled opponent Constantinos Philippou, he did manage to bring an end to Camozzi's four-fight win-streak and proved he can hang with UFC level competition.

With the most significant win of his MMA career secured, Souza's path isn't going to get any easier if he hopes to become a UFC champion. He proved he can stop well rounded fighter in Camozzi, and now the Brazilian needs to beat a high-level wrestler before truly proving his legitimacy.

The perfect opponent to do that against would be the winner of Mark Munoz vs. Tim Boetsch, who are set to meet at UFC 162 this summer.

Either match up is appealing, as all three men are currently floating around the bottom half of the top-10 divisional rankings.

If Souza were to beat Munoz or Boetsch, he would be on a five-fight UFC/Strikeforce win-streak and would have to be included in the conversation of legitimate title contenders.

There's also the option of throwing Souza way into the deep end against Vitor Belfort as some, including this writer, have suggested. But it totally depends on if the UFC brass want to build Souza as a future title challenger of risk ruining his momentum with a risky match up.

Winner: Vitor Belfort
Who He Should Fight Next: Yushin Okami or Ronaldo Souza
Why They Should Fight: Under almost any other circumstances, Belfort would be the clear-cut No. 1 contender in the middleweight division by earning back-to-back knockout wins over opponents the caliber of Michael Bisping and Rockhold, but that appears to not be the case.

Due to his loss to 185-pound champion Anderson Silva just over two years ago, Belfort is still a floater in the division and may need a few more wins to earn a second crack at the belt.

That is unless Chris Weidman pulls of a monumental upset and dethrones "The Spider" at UFC 162.

If Silva holds on to the belt, though, then match ups with Yushin Okami or Ronaldo Souza --who was also victorious at UFC on FX 8-- are the most appealing out there.

For a lengthy explanation on the entire situation and what "The Phenom" should do next, read "Who Is Next For Vitor Belfort?"

That ends this edition of Joe Silva's shoes. What do you think of these potential match ups? Do you agree? Disagree?

Let us know in the comments section below what fights you would make if you were in Joe Silva's shoes and played the role of UFC matchmaker.

Nik Lentz tells Heidi Androl on FUEL TV's UFC on FX 8 post-fight show that he wasn't going to tap out to a Hacran Dias arm-triangle choke in the third round of their spirited featherweight battle on Saturday night (May 18, 2013) in Brazil.

"I'm never going to get tapped out by an arm-triangle, my jiu-jitsu coaches are way too good at ATT. I was safe the whole time but the guy had it incredibly tight, so it was very hard to move, I took my time to get out and I give him credit -- no one has ever hit me with an arm-triangle like that."

"The Carny" tells Heidi Androl on the UFC on FX 8 post-fight show on FUEL TV that he was absolutely not going to tap out from Dias' submission attempt even though the choke was extremely tight and he was unable to move. Lentz handily won the first two rounds of the preliminary card contest, but in the third and final frame Dias fought like a man possessed and nearly put Lentz away on multiple occasions, especially with the choke. According to the 28-year-old, though, he wasn't about to give up in a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight for the first time since 2006 and let Dias earn a come-from-behind victory.

Luke Rockhold wants to get back in the cage as soon as possible following a first-round knockout loss to Vitor Belfort in his UFC debut Saturday night (May 18, 2013) in the UFC on FX 8 main event.

Following a devastating head kick knockout defeat to Vitor Belfort in his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut, Luke Rockhold wants to get right back on the horse with another fight.

The former Strikeforce middleweight champion did not start his career with the world's premier mixed martial arts (MMA) organization the way he would have liked, as on Saturday night (May 18, 2013) in the UFC on FX 8 main event Rockhold was on the receiving end of one of the most incredible knockouts in UFC history (watch highlights here).

Rockhold (10-2), a man who many pegged as one of the next 185-pound title challengers before the fight, suffered his first MMA defeat since June 2007 and following the event stated he is extremely eager to get back in the cage and erase the memory of this fight from the minds of fans.

"I want to get back in there," Rockhold said at the event's post-fight press conference (watch it here). "I want to fight, obviously. Everyone says it, but what can you do at this point? I want to get in there. I want to fight. I want to redeem myself."

Unfortunately for Rockhold, the fact he suffered a fairly brutal knockout loss means a medical suspension will likely keep him out of action for the next few months -- thwarting any potential plans for a quick turnaround.

From the time he spoke with Jon Anik in the cage after the fight all the way to the press conference, Rockhold seemed truly perplexed by the fact he was caught with a technique such as a spinning heel kick.

It was without question a humbling experience for the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) product and while he hasn't had the chance to analyze exactly what led to his defeat, Rockhold just knows he wants to get back in the cage as soon as possible.

"I lost to one of the best guys in the world, and it was something pretty spectacular," Rockhold said. "I don't know what to really think about anything right now. I just want to get back and fight and beat someone up. That's what I'm focused on. Good job by Vitor."

A date or potential opponent for Rockhold's return to the Octagon has not been targeted at this time.
