Donald Cerrone taps Rafael dos Anjos twice after controversial finish to Submission Underground 19 match

Chael Sonnen’s Submission Underground (SUG) returned to UFC Fight Pass from an “unknown location in Oregon” tonight (Dec. 20, 2020) for its nineteenth installment. Once again, the event featured a nice variety of mixed martial arts (MMA) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) stars competing in heated grappling competition. That included Donald Cerrone versus Rafael dos Anjos ... a bout that you might think was not going to go well for “Cowboy” given their respective records of late.

But not only did Cerrone pull off the submission win, he did it twice! The first time came in overtime and saw Cerrone get dos Anjos in a tight armbar that Rafael seemed to tap from. Controversy erupted after “RDA” claimed he was simply trying to push at Cerrone’s leg to escape.

Watch and judge for yourself:

Now, the great thing about these unique types of grappling shows is you can change the rules on the fly. So it was decided that “Cowboy” and “RDA” engage in another overtime round following the main event.

AND COWBOY TAPPED DOS ANJOS AGAIN!

Let’s hope Cerrone is able to take some of these winning ways into 2021 with him. He went 0-2-1 with defeats to Conor McGregor and Anthony Pettis along with a disappointing draw to Niko Price. But these slick submissions over a tough operator like dos Anjos prove he’s definitely still got tricks up his sleeve.
