Battle of the asses? UFC Vegas 82’s Ailin Perez calls out Norma Dumont

Battle of dump trucks inbound?

Ailin Perez picked up her second straight win inside the Octagon at UFC Vegas 82 last night (Sat., Nov. 18, 2023), defeating Lucie Pudilova via unanimous decision from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Perez has been known for insane callouts — she once said she would beat Amanda Nunes before her UFC debut; however, after her win at UFC Vegas 82, she had someone more logical: Norma Dumont.

“I want to fight Norma Dumont, absolutely no doubt,” Perez told MMAMania.com during her post-fight interview. “I’ve actually been offered the fight already by Norma, and she didn’t take the fight even though she said publicly that she wanted to fight. She keeps crying that she can’t make weight, but she keeps calling me out as a Bantamweight. I want to fight Norma Dumont, and the time is now, but it has to be at this weight. I made weight, and I was menstruating in a hot bath all week to make sure that I made weight and I was still able to make it. So, Norma Dumont, the time is now.

“Norma, I want you to stop running away from me,” Perez continued. “What bothered me a little bit is that she keeps trying to call me out to fight but then she doesn’t want to fight and keeps trying to run away and claiming that I’m doing that with her. Norma, you don’t just owe this fight to me but to the fans of South America because a lot of people want to see this fight, and I want to show the people that this is going to be a battle of asses.”

Perez has made it her trademark to twerk after her fights, causing UFC fans to focus on her butt. Meanwhile, Dumont has UFC reporter and commentator Laura Sanko talking about her “dump truck.”

The problem for the “Battle of Asses,” however, is that Dumont has been competing at Featherweight for her entire UFC run except for a failed Bantamweight bout where she missed weight ... and her organs nearly shut down.

Indeed, a Bantamweight showdown would be a “huge loss” for the 145-pound division.
