Christian Leroy Duncan finally lived up to his billing earlier today (Sat., Nov. 18, 2023) at UFC Vegas 82 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the English prospect stopped veteran Denis Tiuliulin with a vicious second-round TKO (punches and elbows).
Duncan was originally expected to fight Octagon newcomer Cesar Almeida at this event, but Almeida was pulled from the card due to medical reasons and was replaced by Tiuliulin. It was a great chance for Duncan to prove he’s able to step up when the promotion needs him most and capable of knocking off the lower level of competition in the 185-pound division.
Duncan was in control for the majority of this fight, but every time Tiuliulin closed the distance “CLD” couldn’t get much off. The second Duncan was able to create some space he landed a huge collection of upper cuts, elbows, and power punches to put Tiuliulin down and out for the count. It was a vicious ending to the “Prelims” matchup.
Duncan, 28, is now 2-1 as a member of the UFC’s middleweight division. This was by far his biggest outing to date and a performance that could land him a top 15 matchup next if the promotion wants to rush him along.
