Justin Gaethje’s technical breakdown of Kevin Lee: ‘I think he’s a b—ch’

UFC’s former interim champion says Gregor Gillespie is the worst thing to happen to Kevin Lee.

Move over Dan Hardy and Luke Thomas because Justin Gaethje is here to break down everything Kevin Lee.

Gaethje (No. 2) shared his thoughts about the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight elite in a recent appearance on UFC Unfiltered. “The Highlight” criticized UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira's resume of opponents outside of Tony Ferguson and, to some extent, Lee.

TWO TITLES UP FOR GRABS! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) makes its highly anticipated return to Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sat., Nov. 11, 2023, with a re-worked pay-per-view (PPV) main card. In the ESPN+-streamed main event, former 205-pound roost-ruler, Jiri Prochazka, will lock horns with ex-Middleweight kingpin, Alex Pereira, for the promotion’s vacant Light Heavyweight title. In UFC 295’s co-main event, top-ranked Heavyweight contenders, Sergei Pavlovich (No. 2) and Tom Aspinall (No. 4), will collide for the interim strap after division champion, Jon Jones, was injured with a torn pectoral muscle and forced to withdraw (video).

Don’t miss a single second of EPIC face-punching action!

“That was a good one. That was alright.” Gaethje said before completely changing his tone (h/t MMA News). “Kevin Lee’s a b—ch. Sorry. Sorry, Kevin.”

Gaethje went on to suggest that Lee’s highlight reel knockout of Gregor Gillespie (watch here) did more harm than good to his reputation because it painted “The Motown Phenom” as a fighter he is not.

“No, I think he’s a b—ch,” Gaethje said. “I mean, he’s got skills. That knockout against Gillespie was the worst thing that could’ve happened to him because he doesn’t knock people out. He needs to win a certain way, and that’s by controlling everything, which is the grappling, and getting it to the fence, and getting it to the ground. I don’t want to knock a guy when he’s down; he just lost. He moved up weight classes. It doesn’t matter.”

Lee (18-7) recently suffered a unanimous decision loss to Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 35 last month. Gaethje (22-3) has not competed since snapping a four-fight win streak in a failed bid to capture UFC’s Lightweight crown from now-retired champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (watch highlights).

Gaethje is set to fight fellow highly-ranked lightweight Michael Chandler at UFC 268, which is scheduled to take place inside Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., on Sat., Nov. 6, 2021, streaming online via ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV).
