UFC 266 poster drops for ‘Volkanovski vs Ortega’ featuring return of Nick Diaz

Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski will (finally) defend his 145-pound strap against No. 2-ranked division contender Brian Ortega in the upcoming UFC 266 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, scheduled for Sat., Sept. 25, 2021 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

BLOCKBUSTER BANTAMWEIGHT BATTLE! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Newark, N.J., for the first time in more than three years on Sat., May 6, 2023, with a blockbuster Bantamweight collision inside Prudential Center that will see Aljamain Sterling attempt another successful title defense against returning two-division titleholder and former gold medal-winning Olympic wrestler, Henry Cejudo. In UFC 288’s last-minute pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, former Welterweight title challenger, Gilbert Burns, locks horns with No. 4-seeded contender, Belal Muhammad, in a five-round, 170-pound No. 1 contender eliminator match.

In UFC 266’s co-main event, also scheduled for five championship rounds, defending women’s flyweight titleholder Valentina Shevchenko will put her gold up for grabs against grizzled No. 3 contender Lauren Murphy, winner of five straight.

Long-time welterweight fan favorite Nick Diaz makes his long-awaited return to the Octagon after more than six years away from combat sports. Diaz takes on former 170-pound champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler, a rematch from their UFC 47 showdown all the way back in 2004, which the Stockton striker won by second-round knockout.
