UFC 265 ‘Embedded’ video, Ep. 3: One step closer to Derrick Lewis vs. Ciryl Gane

Derrick Lewis, Ciryl Gane and more star in episode three of UFC 265 “Embedded.”

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently released Episode 3 of its UFC “Embedded” video blog for the upcoming UFC 265 pay-per-view (PPV) event, taking place this weekend (Sat., Aug. 7, 2021) inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Episode three of UFC 265 “Embedded” (run time: 9:27) follows the stars of Saturday’s PPV, including UFC interim Heavyweight title challengers Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane. Also featured is Bantamweight Pedro Munhoz, whose fight against former UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo was recently elevated to the co-main event slot.

CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLEHEADER! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to T-Mobile Arena with a pair of thrilling world championship bouts. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 29 coaches collide when Featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, defends his title against No. 2-ranked contender, Brian Ortega. UFC 266’s co-main event will see women’s Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko go for her sixth consecutive title defense when she meets No. 3-seeded contender, Lauren Murphy. Last, and certainly not least, Nick Diaz returns against former Welterweight roost ruler, Robbie Lawler, in a five-round banger.

The synopsis for episode three reads:

Ciryl Gane shops for 90s style. Vicente Luque trains with friend Gilbert Burns. Jose Aldo cuts weight to classic songs. Derrick Lewis gets PT; Pedro Munhoz heads to the airport. Main event heavyweights face off across the hotel atrium.

Lewis (25-7, 1 NC) is the winner of four straight, including last February’s destruction of fellow contender Curtis Blaydes. As for Gane (9-0), he’s fresh off his unanimous decision victory over Alexander Volkov, his sixth straight win under the UFC banner.
