Luke Rockhold could find himself fighting for a spot in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Top 10 should he accept a fight against Sean Strickland. UFC President, Dana White, recently told TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter that the former 185-pound champion has been offered a fight against Strickland (No. 8).

Strickland (24-3) improved his win streak to five straight after walloping on Uriah Hall (watch here) en route to a five-round unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 33, which took place inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, last month. Other scalps collected in that stretch of fights include Krzysztof Jotko, Brendan Allen, Jack Marshman and Nordine Taleb.
Rockhold (16-5) is on a 2-3 run in his last five with two consecutive losses. That stretch started with him winning the UFC Middleweight title by finishing Chris Weidman; however, he subsequently dropped the belt to Michael Bisping. Rockhold bounced back with a second-round technical knockout against David Branch before losing back-to-back fights to Yoel Romero and Jan Blachowicz via knockout.
A fight with Strickland would be Rockhold’s first since mid-2019.
