Ramiz Brahimaj captured his first UFC win earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 21, 2021) at UFC Vegas 34 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the welterweight prospect cruised past Sasha Palatnikov with a first-round submission (rear-naked choke).

BLOCKBUSTER BANTAMWEIGHT CONTENDERS’ BOUT! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) departs APEX for a special “Fight Night” extravaganza at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, on Sat., March 25, 2023, featuring a pair of thrilling 135-pound bouts. Surging No. 4-ranked contender Marlon Vera goes for his fifth consecutive win when he takes on exciting finisher and No. 5-seeded Cory Sandhagen. In UFC San Antonio’s ESPN+-streamed co-main event, former women’s 135-pound champion and current No. 3-ranked Holly Holm battles Yana Santos (No. 4).

Don’t miss a single second of face-punching action!

It didn’t take Brahimaj long to move inside and put Palatnikov on his back. It took even less time for Brahimaj to score full mount and turn Palatnikov over. Once that happened it was easy for Brahimaj to sink his arms under the chin and squeeze for dear life. Palatnikov fought the hands admirably, but he eventually went to sleep.

This is a massive performance for Brahimaj after coming up short against Max Griffin in his Octagon debut back in Nov. 2020. The 28-year-old prospect has a serious ground game and some powerful hands to boot so it will be exciting to see what Brahimaj can do against some better ranked opposition at 170 pounds.
