Dana White wants to have a conversation with Gable Steveson.
In fact, the UFC president already has plans to meet with the Olympic gold medalist this weekend in “Sin City,” though it doesn’t sound like the Las Vegas fight boss is ready to put pen to paper just yet.
“Well obviously wrestling is a massive base in the UFC, a lot of great wrestlers — including Olympics — have come and done big things here, so I’m looking at all the guys,” White told TMZ Sports. “We’re very supportive of Olympic wrestling. He’ll be in town this weekend and I think we’re gonna hook up and talk. Obviously there’s a lot of work for him to do before he could make it to the UFC but we’ll see what happens.”
It didn’t take long for NFL star Greg Hardy to make his heavyweight debut so Steveson could very easily rack up a few big wins on the regional circuit or cut his teeth on the recently-resurrected “Ultimate Fighter” reality show.
Or skip the face-punching business altogether for a gig with WWE.
