Women’s strawweight prospect Cheyanne Buys made the most out of her co-main event bid earlier tonight (Sat., July 31, 2021) at UFC Vegas 33 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when she stopped Gloria de Paula with a nasty TKO finish (head kick and punches) just one minute into the fight.
Buys wasted little time scoring a takedown and gaining control. De Paul was able to wiggle free and position herself to get back to her feet. As she started to stand up Buys caught her with a clean head kick that sent de Paula crashing to the canvas. Buys quickly jumped on top and scored a flurry of violent punches before the referee had enough smarts to stop the fight.

Buys, 26, came up short in her UFC debut back in March when Montserrat Ruiz practically head locked her for three-straight rounds. This was a huge comeback performance for “Warrior Princess” as she tries to climb the 115-pound ladder. If this finish is any indication of things to come then Buys should find herself in the top 15 by this time next year.
