Pitbull storms off stage after heated confrontation with A.J. McKee at Bellator 263 press conference | Video

Things got a little heated between current Bellator MMA champ-champ Patricio Freire and A.J. McKee during today’s (Thurs., July 29, 2021) press conference (see it here) to promote their upcoming title fight at Bellator 263 this weekend (Sat., July 31, 2021) in Los Angeles, California.

During a back-and-forth exchange, things got a bit personal between the two combatants when McKee reminded “Pitbull” that he once vowed he would “beat his ass” in front of his father. In turn, “Mercenary” said he’d return the favor by doing the same to the Brazilian bomber in front his his wife and kids.

MIDDLEWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! Watch Bellator 185-pound kingpin, Gegard Mousasi, put his world title on the line against Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace and No.-1 ranked division contender, John Salter. In Bellator 264’s co-main event, two of the hardest hitting Welterweights on the planet will collide, as former champion Andrey Koreshkov takes on No. 10-seeded Welterweight Sabah Homasi. Bellator 264: “Mousasi vs. Salter” airs live on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET.

Don’t miss a single second of face-punching action!

That was all the champ needed to lose his cool, prompting him to stand up and challenge McKee to a brawl right on stage. McKee then snatched one of Freire’s belts, which really irritated and already-heated champ. Of course, before things got really physical the camps were separated. After a bit more jawing back-and-forth, Freire stormed off the stage, ending the press conference early for the headliners.

At least they didn’t go too far ...

The newfound tension only adds to the hype of what is already one of the most-anticipated title fights in recent memory for the promotion. The winner of the fight will become (or remain) the 145-pound division kingpin and be crowned the winner of the Featherweight Grand Prix. And, of course, he will also go home with a whopping $1 million payday.
