Gilbert Burns sets his scope on Leon Edwards, UFC 268 and perhaps the winner of Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington 2.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, announced on Monday that Usman vs. Covington 2 will headline the promotion’s November pay-per-view (PPV) in New York, New York. Shortly after the announcement of UFC 268’s headliner, Burns (No. 2) challenged Edwards (No. 3) on social media.

“Co-main, Leon Edwards?” Mr. “Durinho” tweeted, tagging his potential next opponent.
Burns (20-4) bounced back from a third round technical knockout loss to Usman (watch here) in February with a unanimous decision win over Stephen Thompson at UFC 264 earlier this month. Edwards, meanwhile, extended his active win streak to nine with a unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz at UFC 263 (watch here) last month. Both men seek retribution after losing to Usman earlier in their respective careers.
Usman vs. Covington 2 will reportedly take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Nov. 6, 2021, streaming via ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV); however, the promotion has yet to publicly announce an exact date or venue.
