UFC Vegas 32 live stream results, ‘Sandhagen vs Dillashaw’ play-by-play updates

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is locked and loaded for UFC Vegas 32, which takes place TONIGHT (Sat., July 24, 2021) streaming LIVE on both ESPN and ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. Main event duties fall to bantamweight contenders (and former training partners) Cory Sandhagen and T.J. Dillashaw, who collide for a spot in the 135-pound title chase. Unfortunately, a late injury to women’s bantamweight bruiser Macy Chiasson scrapped her co-main event against Aspen Ladd (details here), but there are still plenty of great contests going down this weekend in “Sin City.”

Round 1: Dillashaw on the front foot to start. Sandhagen circling. Lots of feints from both men. Body and low kick from Dillashaw, then a combo. Sandhagen right hand and low kick in return. Sneaky right hand, then a flying knee into a reverse triangle as Dillashaw changes levels. Dillashaw pops out and a scramble ensues. On top in half guard, then looking for the back. Pressing Sandhagen against the fence and landing knees two minutes in. Elbow form Dillashaw on the break. Sandhagen answers with a right hand, then misses a spinning back kick, craeting another scramble. Good 2-1 from Dillashaw. Sandhagen goes low-high with lefts. Two minutes to go.

Right hand from Sandhagen. Dillashaw answers a low kick with counters and ties up. Sandhagen tries to roll for an armbar and they swat each other with hammerfists. Now looking for a leg with a minute to go. Dillashaw comes down with good right hands. Hard punches from Dillashaw as Sandhagen tries to crank. 10-9 Dillashaw.

Round 2: Dillashaw tells his corner that something’s up with the knee Sandhagen was cranking on. Let’s see what happens.

Dillashaw shoots against the fence. Good escape from Sandhagen. Dillashaw body kick, Sandhagen catches it. Sandhagen to the body a minute in. Left hand from Dillashaw, cracked with a 1-2 in return. Round 3: Early punches from Dillashaw as Sandhagen tries some funky movement. They trade body kicks. Sandhagen tries a spinning elbow. Dillashaw ties up on the fence. One minute in. Good right from Dillashaw as they separate. Sandhagen potshotting as Dillashaw struggles with the blood. Another right hand from Sandhagen. Good shovel hook by Dillashaw two minutes in. Good 1-2 from Dillashaw a minute in. Sandhagen uncorks a combo in return. Again Dillashaw spins to the rear waist lock and gets him down to a knee for a moment. Elbows on the break. Dillashaw with his signature double-leg, takes him to the fence once again. Sandhagen separates two minutes in. Good body shot. Series of counters. Good left, knee in the clinch. Dillashaw still marching on and throwing. Hard counter two-piece from Sandhagen. Body shot. Two minutes to go.

More counters from Sandhagen. Right hook by Dillashaw, who shoots. He exits with a good combination. Counter rights from Sandhagen. Dillashaw pops him with a left and shoots. Sandhagen separates with a minute to go. Sandhagen rips another body shot. Dillashaw just marching through the counters. Counter right wobbles Dillashaw’s legs for a moment. 10-9 Sandhagen.

135 lbs.: Kyler Phillips vs. Raulian Paiva

Round 1: Counter rights from Paiva to answer some early kicks. Counter 1-2. Philips tries a spinning back kick. Phillips follow a head kick attempt with a 2-1 that drops Paiva. He elects to let Paiva up and the Brazilian goes back to stalking him. One minute in. Stiff jab from Paiva. Blitz attempt. He catches a kick and lands some punches before taking him down against the fence. Phillips stands, hits the switch. He tries to dump Paiva on his head, but they separate two minutes in. Paiva continuing to press forward. Phillips catches him coming in with a right hand and sprawls on a shot. Separation. Phillips misses a wheel kick and ends up on his back. Two minutes to go.

Phillips threatening submissions off of his back, unsuccessful so far. Right hands from Paiva. Phillips hits his own takedown in transition and ends up on top in side control. Failed attempt to mount. Half guard with a minute to go. Elbows from Phillips, big one on the break. Brutal lead elbow hurts Paiva and Phillips tries to pound him out. Again Paiva manages to pop up and gets cracked again. Murderous elbow finally sends Paiva to the mat, but he manages to survive. 10-8 Phillips.

Round 2: Paiva still stalking, to his credit. He shoots, grabs a body lock, and tries a slick heel hook transition that doesn’t work out. Back to the feet. Left hook lands for Phillips. Low kick connects. One minute in. Another elbow from Phillips inside. They trade right hands and this time it’s Phillips on his butt. He pops up but Paiva is coming in for the kill. Big uppercut. Brutal right hand on the break. Phillips tries a jumping knee, then stuffs a takedown two minutes in. Double-leg from him in return. Paiva working his way up against the fence. Two minutes to go.

They separate. Right hand from Phillips. Both swinging right hands. Paiva ducks a right and grabs a body lock. Heavy right hands against the fence. He’s just relentless. Phillips with a slick back take. Great scramble. One hook in for him with a minute to go. Back to the feet. Monster right hands from both men in sequence. Phillips shoots, can’t get him down. 10-9 Paiva.

Round 3: Phillips shoots, denied, lands a leg kick. Body kick from Paiva in return. Brutal right cross from Phillips. Paiva answers to the body and stuffs a takedown. Hard right hook from Paiva. One minute in. Phillips tries a single-leg, then a wild spinning back fist. Paiva with some short-range offence against the fence. They’re both spent but still going for it. They trade big rights. Knee from Phillips, stiff jab. Two minutes in. Heavy combination from Paiva, finishes to the body. Phillips tries a wheel kick. Phillips completes a double-leg near the fence. Left hand as Paiva separates. Phillips lands an elbow and grabs a rear waist lock. Two minutes to go.

Paiva looks for his own takedown, secures it. On top in half guard. Left hands from the Brazilian. One minute to go. Phillips works his way up with 10 seconds to go and tees off with brutal rights and an elbow. Hell of a fight. 10-9 Paiva.

145 lbs.: Darren Elkins vs. Darrick Minner

Round 1: Minner lands a couple knees inside as Elkins wades in. Minner low kick, Elkins left hook. Front kick and right hand from Minner, who grabs a guillotine as Elkins shoots in. Elkins manages to power his way through it and end up on top a minute in. Minner sweeps and takes the back, dropping punches. In position for a mounted triangle. He switches to an armbar, nothing doing two minutes in. Elkins on his rear getting pressed against the fence. Right hands from Minner. Elkins stands, fights off a takedown while landing punches. Minner completes the takedown and looks for the neck with two minutes to go.

Elkins working to try and sit up. Good shots from Minner on top. Elkins rolls for a leglock and gets mulched with elbows. Minner continuing to pile up the damage. On top in guard with a minute to go. Elkins trying some swatting punches off his back. 10-9 Minner.

Round 2: Minner scores an immediate takedown against the fence. Now Elkins hunting a guillotine. Minner rolls through and takes his back. Scramble into half guard, then butterfly a minute in. Minner falls back for a guillotine, no dice. Elkins muscles him to his back and sets up in half guard. Looking for an arm triangle, doesn’t have it. Crucifix from half guard. Punches piling up two minutes in. Good elbow as well. Two minutes to go.

Onto side control, full crucifix. Elkins continuing to mulch him with short punches. He takes the back and there’s the finish.

125 lbs.: Miranda Maverick vs. Maycee Barber

Round 1: Barber circling, Maverick more flat-footed. Head kick attempt. One minute in. Jabs from Maverick. Barber falls short with punches, eats a leg kick. She whiffs on an overhand. Maverick tries a combo, lands a body kick. Two minutes in. Barber just coming up short with most of her offense. Body kick from Maverick once again. Uppercut connects. Left cross and body kick. Two minutes to go.

Barber really not throwing much. There’s a combo against the fence. Combiantion from Maverick. Barber right hand, Maverick body kick. Another body kick. Another. 10-9 Maverick.

Round 2: Maverick keeping up the pressure. Body kick and right hand from Barber, who eats a low kick. Maverick to the body. One minute in. Maverick combination. Maverick lands a right hook and knees in the clinch. Holding Barber against the fence. Two minutes in. Good combo from Barber. Maverick denies a takedown with a whizzer, eats an elbow. Round 1: Costa looking for left high kicks right away. Low kick connects, right high kick glances off. Yanez tries his own spin. Costa switching stance, continuing to send out kicks. Stiff jab a minute in. Low kick exchange. 1-2 from Costa. Sharp right cross, landing jabs. Continuing to push forward. Head kick just misses, 1-2 does not. Good low kick two minutes in. Body kick connects, double jab. Jab from Yanez, eats jabs and right hands in return. Straight left. Two minutes to go.

Good right hand from Costa, continuing to pile up the strikes. Clean jabs and crosses. Yanez stings him with a 1-2 in return. Body shot. Now he’s on the front foot. Counter hook lands. One minute to go. 1-2, oblique kick, 1-2. Costa still landing jabs and crosses, cracks him with a Brazilian kick. Combo from Yanez, hard body shot. 10-9 Costa.

Round 2: Low kick lands for Yanez. Jab connects, counter low kick. Straight right. Jabs from Costa. Good exchange in the center. Jab exchange. One minute in. Yanez still advancing. Trading jabs and straights. Costa threatens a level change. Swatting right by Yanez. Two-piece downstairs, then he lands a brutal uppercut that drops Costa. Costa tries to survive on his knees, but the follow-up onslaught sends the ref into action.

185 lbs.: Brendan Allen vs. Puna Soriano

Round 1: Head kick attempts from Soriano, who eats a leg kick in return. He whiffs on a left hand and wades into the clinch, swinging big on the exit. Hard body kick from Allen, who eats a pair of heavy lefts. Good right hand in return. One minute in. Two more left hands from Soriano, who eats a body kick. Right hand to the body from Allen. He sneaks a right around the guard. Counter flurry by Soriano. Two more lefts. Allen lands a leg kick. Two minutes in. 2-3 from Soriano. Allen pops him with a right and a right hook comes back at him. Good short knees from Allen, forced to retreat by a left hand. Jab and leg kick. Hard leg kick exchange. Two minutes to go.

1-2 lands for Allen, then a leg kick. Heavy right hand and head kick attempt on the break. Soriano leg kick. Hard body kick by Allen and jabs behind it. Soriano with a pair of looping lefts on the fence. One minute to go. Soriano rips the body and ties up. He pops his head out of a guillotine and absorbs an elbow on the break. Soriano digs a left downstairs. Body kick and jab from Allen. Knees in the clinch. Soriano flurries on the fence. Another left downstairs. Another body kick from Allen and a clinch knee. Soriano doubles up the left with two minutes to go.

Yet another nasty body kick lands for Allen. 1-2-1. Soriano eats a low blow but shrugs it off. One minute to go. Body kick and right hand from Allen. Soriano tries a 3-2. Allen continuing to piece him up and slams home another body kick. 10-9 Allen, borderline 10-8.

Round 3: More heavy kicks from Allen. Soriano with a straight left. Allen fires a knee, takes a left in return, lands a 1-2. One minute in. Soriano follows a head kick attempt with a straight left. Knee from Allen, straight left and body kick from Soriano. Soriano blasts him with a 3-2 in return that Allen somehow absorbs. Body kick from Soriano. Allen body kick tow minutes in. Soriano straight left, Allen low kick. Soriano to the body, gets hurt by a body kick in return. 1-2 by Soriano. Allen digs a left downstairs. Soriano tries a combination, lands a body kick. Two minutes to go.

Another Allen body kick. Soriano 1-2, eats a 1-2 in return. Right hand and knee by Allen. Body kicks. Knee to the body. They trade power hands. Body kick by Soriano. One minute to go. 185 lbs.: Ian Heinisch vs. Nassourdine Imavov

Round 1: Heinisch blitzes his way into the clinch and puts Imavov agaisnt the fence. They separate a minute in. Low kick from Heinisch. Imavov just misses with a 1-2 and blocks a head kick. Superman punch attempt, eats calf kicks in return. Imavov tries a flying knee and follows with a left hand two minutes in. Body lock for Imavov. Jockeying for position against the fence. Heinisch looking for a takedown now. They separate with two minutes to go.

Heinisch leaps in with a hook and eats a hard right hand. Low kick lands for him. Calf kicks piling up. Imavov stuffs a takedown and rolls away. Hard straight left from Heinisch with a minute to go. Imavov stalking, fires an uppercut. Left high kick attempt. Another calf kick from Heinisch and another. Imavov tries to jump over one. 10-9 Heinisch on the low kicks.

Round 2: Imavov continuing to march forward and send out punches. More low kicks from Heinisch. One minute in. Imavov counters a low kick with a right hand, then counters a takedown attempt by putting Heinisch on his butt against the fence with his own. Heinisch works his way up and lands an elbow before separating. Imavov stalking, lands a 1-2 two minutes in. Body kick lands for him. Heinisch leg kick. Imavov counters the next low kick with left hands that sting Heinisch. He follows up with a knee and more punches that send Heinisch down, then pounds Heinisch out.

170 lbs.: Mickey Gall vs. Jordan Williams

Round 1: Southpaw Williams pushing forward. Combination lands for him against the fence. As they clinch up, Gall just smashes Williams with a point-blank right hand. Gall follows him down and hunts a Marcelotine, but Williams manages to slip out. Williams still unsteady, gets clinched and separates a minute in. 1-2 from Williams. Low kick exchange, Gall right hand and jab. Good left hand from Williams to counter a body kick. Gall low kick and right hand. Good 1-2 and he takes a finger in/near the eye in the process. Williams fires low kicks and gets cracked by two hard right hands in response. Gall hunts a guillotine, uses it to take mount and then the back. Gall wraps up the RNC and there’s the tap.

Final result: Gall def. Williams by submission (rear naked choke)


135 lbs.: Julio Arce vs. Andre Ewell

Round 1: Good jab from Ewell, who eats a leg kick in response. Leg kick exchange. Ewell sends out body kicks a minute in. Good counter left from Arce after catching a kick. Counter 3-2. Good exchange two minutes in. Arce doing well with counters so far. Leg kick from Ewell. 1-2 whiffs. Arce tries to capitalize and eats a swatting right. Two minutes to go.

Ewell tries a head kick. Good left from Arce knocks Ewell off-balance for a moment. Staying patient. Big exchange. Arce body kick. Ewell low kicks. One minute to go. Counter right hook. Arce tries a head kick. They trade jabs. Arce fires a combination on the fence and ties up. 10-9 Arce.

Round 2: Trading low kicks to start. Good left hand from Ewell as they exchange. They trade near the fence. One minute in. Front kick lads for Arce. Ewell doubles up on low kicks and eats a body jab. Arce low kick. Ewell body jab. Arce tries a head kick; something cut him beside his right eye. Nasty body shot by Arce two minutes in. 1-2 downstairs. 1-2-3 from Ewell, best combo in a while from him. Good body shots. Two minutes to go.

Trading jabs. Ewell with a 1-2 downstairs. Hard straight left takes Ewell’s legs out and Arce swarms him with punches until the ref intervenes.

Round 1: Eubanks tanks a right hand and shoots in the opening seconds, ultimately completing an outside trip into half guard. Reed tries to regain guard, gives up side control. One minute in. Back to half guard. Short rights from Eubanks, lands an elbow. Right to mount goes Eubanks. Two minutes in. Some big punches, brief armbar attempt. Elbows piling up. Two minutes to go

Reed tries to use the fence to scramble, regaining half guard. Eubanks talks half guard, dropping more hard shots. Full mount again and she bombs away for the finish.

Final result: Eubanks def. Reed by TKO (punches)


115 lbs.: Diana Belbita vs. Hannah Goldy

Round 1: Goldy busy with kicks early. Right hand and low kick from Belbita. Another low kick. One minute in. Goldy hauls her to the fence. Left hand from her on the break. Doubling up the lead leg. Belbita still firing low kicks. Two minutes in. Belbita counters a body kick with a heavy right hand that floors Goldy. Swarming with punches and kicks. She gets overeager and Goldy takes her down into half guard. Belbita scrambles up with tow minutes to go.

They separate. Belbita pressuring, lands punches and gets taken to the fence. One minute to go. Jockeying for position, trading knees downstairs. Goldy exits with a left and gets cracked by another right before tying up. 10-9 Belbita.

Round 2: Back to the rapid exchanges. Heavy kicks from both sides. More leg kicks from Belbita, who eats a heavy three-piece a minute in. Belbita 1-2. She charges, lands another right hand before getting hauled to the fence. Goldy looks for an inside trip from the body lock. They separate. Trading good punches tow minutes in. Goldy ties up once again. Trading knees downstairs. Two minutes to go.

They separate. Belbita low kick, Goldy jab. Belbita bangs the body. One minute to go. Low kick connects. Goldy lead right, eats one in return. Body kick lands for Goldy. Goldy answers a 1-2 with a clean head kick. Belbita low kick to answer a combo. 10-9 Belbita.

Round 3: Goldy sending out combinations as Belbita continues to target the lead leg. Solid boxing from Goldy. Sharp right hand met by a Belbita left hook. Goldy three-piece. One minute in. Belbita jab and low kick. Head kick in response to a Goldy right hand. Good exchange in center cage. Simultaneous jabs. Two minutes in. Belbita rocks her with another right cross and swarms with flurries. Goldy shoots in response and takes her to the fence. Two minutes to go.
