In what was a “Fight of the Night” contender, Billy Quarantillo pulled out all the stops to beat Gabriel Benitez bloody, smashing in his orbital and hammering on him in the third round so badly the ref was forced to step in and stop the fight.
For Quarantillo, it was a combination of relentless offensive pressure on the feet and an unstoppable body triangle from the back on the ground that brought him to victory. In the first round, Benitez was left a bloody mess. In the second round, an egg sprung up under Benitez’s eye that the ref had a doctor look at after a foul. In the third, “Billy Q” got the body triangle again and just hammered away until the ref decided to call the fight. No need to see that clearly broken orbital take more shots, really.
