Bellator 262 went down earlier tonight (Fri., July 16, 2021) featuring a women's Flyweight title fight between division queen Juliana Velasquez taking on the promotion’s kickboxing champion, Denise Kielholtz.

Things started off great for the challenger, peppering the champion with several clean strikes courtesy of her expertise in kickboxing. Round two was much of the same with Kielholtz controlling the center of the cage, owning the champion in the standup department.

In round three, Velasquez finally started finding her groove and began to let her hands fly. While Kielholtz was still standing strong in the center of the cage, Velasquez’s striking came alive. By the time round four rolled around, Kielholtz’s face was really starting to show the damage.

Round five was fairly close with both ladies having success on the feet. Staying true to her word, Velasquez never went for a takedown after promising to stand-and-bang with the kickboxing champion. In the end, the judges scored the fight in favor of the champion, awarding her the split decision win to remain undefeated at 12-0.
