Not the reception you would expect for Donald Trump at a UFC event. There were some cheers scattered about the crowd and a few audible “USA, USA” chants, but that’s a lot of boos for the historically right-leaning fan base. pic.twitter.com/blNZPOuyoF— Travis Akers (@travisakers) July 11, 2021
A video of Trump’s arrival has surfaced and the fan reaction is strong. Some suggest Trump was welcomed with a chorus of boos, while others believe he was strongly cheered for.
Prior to UFC 264, Trump sat cageside for UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden in New York City in Nov. 2019. He became the first U.S. President to attend a UFC event. The card was headlined by Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson presenting the winner a ceremonial BMF belt.
