Dricus Du Plessis and Trevin Giles faced off earlier tonight (Sat., July 10, 2021) at UFC 264 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following some competitive grappling in the first, Du Plessis crushed his opponent with a big right hand.
Du Plessis doesn’t know how to fight boring. Giles looked smooth on the outside early, flicking a fast jab. However, Du Plessis was able to force a takedown, and he nearly wrapped up the neck in some fun scrambles immediately afterward. To start round two, Giles again landed some good shots, but Du Plessis fired back with a crushing right hand.

This is Du Plessis’ second Octagon, and both victories came via knockout. The South African is definitely one to watch 185 pounds, and he should receive a big step up in competition next.
