McGregor (22-5) drew first blood at the UFC 178 PPV back in late 2014, scoring a technical knockout win over “The Diamond” when both competitors were up-and-coming featherweights. Poirier (27-6, 1 NC) would later get revenge against “Notorious” — this time at lightweight — when they ran it back atop the UFC 257 card in January of this year.

Both fighters are 32 years-old but separated by four spots in the official rankings.
