Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards are getting the main event treatment in a new UFC 263 poster uploaded by Diaz.
Diaz (20-12) shared a photo via social media promoting his UFC 263 fight against Edwards (18-3). The fight marks Diaz’s first since a Nov. 2019 loss to Jorge Masvidal for the BMF belt, and Edwards’ second since July 2019.
“Best of the best,” Diaz captioned the post. “UFC 263, June 12th.”
Diaz vs. Edwards holds the distinction of being the first-ever non-title bout, non-main event five-round fight in UFC history. His famous “touch butt” diss toward Conor McGregor has become textbook MMA verbiage. He also kickstarted the fighter trend of sparking a joint at open workouts or in a crowd. But do you remember the time he drew himself onto a UFC poster or hijacked an interview to jam out to Tupac and Biggie Smalls? Take a look at the video above to reminisce on Diaz’s cult of personality ahead of his big return fight vs. Edwards.
UFC 263 takes place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., on Sat., June 12, 2021. The pay-per-view (PPV) card is headlined by a rematch pitting UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya vs. Marvin Vettori. Also on the card is a UFC men’s flyweight title rematch between champion Deiveson Figueiredo and challenger Brandon Moreno.
