Ciryl Gane will battle fellow heavyweight titan Derrick Lewis at the upcoming UFC 265 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Aug. 7 inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

And he’ll do it as the -325 favorite.

That’s according to our fiscal friends over at BetOnline.ag, who pegged Lewis as the +275 underdog. “Bon Gamin” and “The Black Beast” are going to war over the promotion’s interim heavyweight strap.

A decision that shocked reigning 265-pound titleholder Francis Ngannou.

CHAMPIONSHIP TRILOGY! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to The O2 in London England, on Sat., March 18, 2023, with newly-minted Welterweight kingpin, Leon Edwards, running it back with former 170-pound champion, Kamaru Usman, for a third (and likely final) time. In UFC 286’s pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, all-action Lightweight knockout artists, Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev, will lock horns with the winner inching closer to a future Lightweight title shot.

Don’t miss a single second of EPIC face-punching action!

Gane (9-0) is fresh off his unanimous decision victory over Top 10 heavyweight Alexander Volkov, his sixth straight win under the UFC banner since joining the promotion back in summer 2019. As for Lewis (25-7, 1 NC), he’s captured four straight, including last February’s destruction of Curtis Blaydes.

The UFC heavyweight division is complete chaos right now and the decision to create an interim strap could also delay the return of former 265-pound champion Stipe Miocic, who was hoping to wrap up his trilogy against Ngannou later this year.

Not likely.
