Matt Brown turned back the clock earlier tonight (Sat., June 19, 2021) at UFC Vegas 29 live on ESPN2/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “The Immortal” put a brutal stop to welterweight veteran Dhiego Lima with a second-round knockout (punch).
Despite being a 40-year-old veteran coming off back-to-back losses Brown looked good in this main card opener. Lima did well to score some hard calf kicks in the first round, but Brown was pushing the pace and never seemed to let up. In Round 2, he was able to launch a vicious right hand that caught Lima clean on the chin and put him out for good.

This is just what the doctor ordered for the aging Brown as he tries to prove he’s still a worthy fighter in the stacked 170-pound division. Luckily, “Immortal” was able to pull out one of the best finishes of his UFC career and has bought himself some time heading into the second half of 2021.
