Women’s flyweight prospect Casey O’Neill kept her undefeated record in tact earlier tonight (Sat., June 19, 2021) at UFC Vegas 29 live on ESPN2/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when she finished Lara Procopio via third-round submission (rear-naked choke).
Procopio was able to land some good jabs in the early going before gaining an upper hand on the ground. O’Neill was able to battle back in the second round to score a plethora of strikes on the feet in addition to sapping Procopio’s energy with some solid ground-and-pound. Procopio had nothing left to offer in the final frame and it allowed O’Neill to take her back, sink in the choke, and squeeze for the finish.

This is O’Neill’s second-straight finish since making her Octagon debut back in February. The talented 23-year-old prospect has looked good in both of those appearances and is quickly becoming a name to watch at 125 pounds.
