UFC champ Amanda Nunes earns double nomination for 2021 ESPY Awards on July 10

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, who also wears gold at 145 pounds, earned two nominations for the 2021 ESPY Awards on July 10 in the categories of Best Athlete in Women’s Sports and Best MMA Fighter.

Fan votes help decide the outcome so a winner can be hard to predict.

Nunes, 33, holds a professional MMA record of 21-4 and is riding a 12-fight win streak with eight finishes, including her UFC 259 submission victory over Megan Anderson at 145 pounds. “Lioness” will return to the Octagon to battle bantamweight rival Julianna Pena at UFC 265 in August.

The 2021 ESPY Awards, hosted by actor Anthony Mackie, air July 10 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
