Video: Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder just can’t stop staring into each other’s eyes at trilogy press conference

The press conference staredown between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder was more romantic comedy than intense blood feud ahead of their boxing rubber match.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder engaged in what is possibly the longest face off / staredown in combat sports history.

Fury and Wilder squared off at a press conference in Los Angeles, Calif., on Tuesday ahead of their trilogy boxing match inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 24, 2021. It was a rather odd affair. Wilder opened the event by promising bloodshed before refusing to answer any questions. A shirtless Fury spent most of the presser exchanging barbs with Wilder’s new head coach, Malik Scott.

Finally, what was meant to be a quick photo op turned into a scene about as long as The Irishman, as Fury and Wilder refused to pull away from their staredown. Eventually, both men’s camps migrated to the stage, but nobody got between Fury and Wilder. It took what felt like an eternity before Wilder saved everyone watching and turned away.

You can watch the bizarre encounter in the video posted above.

Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3 takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sat., July 24, 2021. Fury (30-0-1) is the reigning WBC and The Ring Heavyweight champion and enters the fight with one victory and one draw against Wilder (42-1-1).
