After more than a year on the sidelines, Brandon Vera will finally make his combat sports return to defend his heavyweight title against streaking heavyweight bruiser Arjan Bhullar as part of the ONE Championship “Dangal” event on May 15 in Singapore.
Where Bhullar plans to drag Vera into deep water and “gas him out.”
“Arjan only said that because he can’t finish fights,” Vera laughed. “Gas me out, please, gas me out. Just make sure that when you come for me, you’re ready for your ass whooping. You’ve probably never had one given to you like the one I’m gonna give to you. All of them, good luck. All the heavyweights that have signed with ONE Championship, all of you world champions, this heavyweight division is my house. You’re gonna catch an ass whooping.”
Vera (16-8, 1 NC) is 4-1 for ONE Championship with four knockouts.
Bhullar, who went 3-1 as a UFC heavyweight, made his ONE Championship debut with a unanimous decision victory over Mauro Cerilli in Oct. 2019, the same “Century” event that saw Vera return to light heavyweight in an unsuccessful bid to dethrone Aung La N Sang.
