Bellator MMA may have just found another gem after Diana Avsaragova made a splash in her promotional debut earlier today (Fri., April 9, 2021) at Bellator 256: “Bader vs. Machida 2” inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Facing off against Tara Graff, Avsaragova was taking part in just her third mixed martial arts (MMA) fight. And it didn’t take long to see why Scott Coker and Co. decided to swoop her up so early in her career, delivering a 29-second knockout win.
Bellator 256’s main card will air on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET. MMAmania.com will deliver results for the full card and comprehensive play-by-play for the televised portion of Bellator 256 below.
Graff came out aggressive and scored some strikes in the opening seconds. After gaining confidence, Graff got a bit too overzealous and a calm, cool and collected Avsaragova took advantage, countering her foe’s attack perfectly and dropping her with a clean right hand. From there, the Russian-born fighter piled on the strikes, landing cleanly with all of her follow up punches to fold Graff like a lawn chair.
And it took all of 29 seconds.
