Ariane Carnelossi and Na Liang turned in a wild “Prelims” opener earlier tonight (Sat., Apr. 24, 2021) at UFC 261 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla., but it was Carnelossi who walked away with the second-round TKO (punches) in front of a crazed crowd.
Liang wasted little time in her debut and caught Carnelossi with a straight right hand and scored a brief knockdown. Carnelossi was able to rebound and really started to show her power in every exchange. Liang did well to threaten with her patented submissions, but Carnelossi kept coming forward and started to land some heavy shots. Early into the second round Liang scored a throw and landed in side control. Carnelossi was able to once again power her way out and launched heavy ground-and-pound to find the finish.

This victory gives Carnelossi her first UFC win after she came up short against veteran contender Angela Hill in her Octagon debut back in Sept. 2019. Carnelossi looks to be a true wrecking ball at 115 pounds and will be a name to watch heading into the second half of 2021.
