Anderson Silva reacts to DMX’s passing

DMX was never too far from mixed martial arts (MMA) so long as Anderson Silva was repping his music during walkouts. Here’s “The Spider” commenting on DMX’s untimely passing.

The list of fighters who have walked out to rapper DMX’s music is long, including greats like Chuck Liddell, Mike Tyson and Brian Ortega, among others. But for me, the most iconic use of DMX as a walkout song in mixed martial arts (MMA) has to go to Anderson Silva. Silva, still a solid G.O.A.T. contender despite later defeats, used to enter the cage to DMX’s, “Ain’t No Sunshine.”

Following DMX’s tragic passing at the age of 50 due to a heart attack, TMZ Sports spoke to Silva.

“DMX is part of my life,” Silva said. “I’m very sad because he is a huge man, a huge talent, and I’m sad. I’m very sad because this man has great potential to do something more and more in this world. For me, DMX is completely different because he’s very charismatic. And the talent that DMX has is completely different. He’s a good actor and singer.

“I’m sad, I’m very sad,” Silva continued.

As for whether “The Spider” will honor DMX by using one of his songs in his upcoming boxing match against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 19, 2021?

“For sure, I will go and use his music because it’s part of my life,” Silva concluded.
