UFC Vegas 21 free fight: Leon Edwards takes out Rafael dos Anjos in ‘Lone Star State’ | Video

Now that UFC 259 is in the rear-view mirror (full recap here), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is coming right back to stage UFC Vegas 21, live from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, and streaming exclusively on ESPN+.

The event is set to feature a revamped Welterweight showdown between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad. Edwards was in line to face Khamzat Chimaev, but the bout was canceled a third time as a result of COVID-19. Before fight night rolls around, let’s take a look back at Edwards’ last win, which was the last time he fought inside the Octagon more than 1.5 years ago.

In July 2019, “Rocky” found himself staring down former UFC Lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, who was coming off a big win over Kevin Lee. Edwards, on the other hand, was coming in scorching hot after winning seven fights in a row. After five rounds of action, the British brawler had earned consecutive win No. 8 via clear-cut unanimous decision.

“Rocky” has been unable to find his way back in the cage since because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But now that he has a fight locked in, he is ready to resume his winning ways in an effort to remind everyone why he is talked about as a potential threat to the division crown. He will have a tough task in Muhammad, winner of four straight, including his most recent victory over Dhiego Lima at UFC 258 just last month.
