Trevin Jones proved yet again that he’s a force to be reckoned with at the bantamweight level earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 6, 2021) at UFC 259 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, as “5 Star” finished Mario Bautista via second-round TKO (punches).
Jones was able to do some damage along the cage in the early going, but Bautista’s power on the feet really showed in the first round. In Round 2, Jones was able to get busy in space and leveled Bautista with a hybrid uppercut. Bautista fell to the canvas and Jones jumped on top for some serious ground-and-pound and the eventually stoppage.

Jones toppled highly-touted bantamweight prospect Timur Valiev in a short-notice debut last August, but “5 Star” ended up testing positive for marijuana and saw that win overturned. This is a great way to remind fans of his ability inside of the Octagon and prove to UFC that he’s ready to make a run at the division’s top 15.
