UFC 259 ‘Embedded’ video, Ep. 5: Israel Adesanya is now a five-star fighter

New, 2 comments

When it comes to sports games, the NFL’s “Madden” series is one of the absolute most popular games ever. Making the cover of the game is any athlete’s dream, but so is reaching the ever-exclusive “99” club, the highest rating any player can get in the video game.

When it comes to Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) game — also produced by EA Sports — getting five stars is the max any fighter can get. And Israel Adesanya — who aims to claim the Light Heavyweight title at UFC 259 by defeating Jan Blachowicz — just entered the mix.

In the latest episode of “Embedded,” Adesanya is awarded a custom necklace for unlocking five-star level in the game thanks to his destruction of Paulo Costa at UFC 253. The Middleweight champion joins Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Amanda Nunes, Valentina Shevchenko and Max Holloway in the exclusive club.

Adesanya hopes to add to his hardware by becoming the promotion’s fifth champ-champ with a win this weekend (Sat., March 6, 2021) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

From the official YouTube description:

Presented by Hyperice, Champs Israel Adesanya and Petr Yan do media; Aljamain Sterling and Amanda Nunes’ family get a feel for the Octagon. At UFC PI, the City Kickboxing team, Nunes and Megan Anderson push themselves; Jan Blachowicz stays sharp with ping pong.
