Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has unveiled the poster for the upcoming UFC Vegas 24 event set to go down inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 17, 2021. The ESPN+-streamed event is set to feature a long-awaited Middleweight fight between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum. Whittaker was originally in line to face Paulo Costa, but after “The Eraser” came down with a severe case of the flu Gastelum stepped in to fill the void.
Whittaker and Gastelum were originally set to throw down at UFC 234 in Feb. 2019 for the Middleweight belt before Whittaker was forced out the day of the fight with a hernia.
Gastelum recently snapped his three-fight losing streak with a victory over Ian Heinisch at UFC 258 in Feb. 2021. Whittaker, meanwhile, is coming off a stellar win over Jared Cannonier at UFC 254 in Oct. 2020.
