Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) next pay-per-view (PPV) offering is is set to go down this weekend (Sat., March 27, 2021) with UFC 260, featuring a massive Heavyweight championship rematch between division kingpin, Stipe Miocic, defending his belt for the second time against Francis Ngannou.
In their first encounter at UFC 220 in Jan. 2018, Miocic earned a unanimous decision win over the heavy-hitting combatant, weathering some big shots early on to score the unanimous decision win. Since then, Miocic has faced Daniel Cormier three straight times, which means over the last three years the Cleveland firefighter will have fought five times and faced the same two men.
Following his loss to Miocic, Ngannou went on to drop a lackluster decision to Derrick Lewis before reeling off four consecutive first round knockouts to punch his ticket to the big dance once more.
UFC 260’s co-main event was set to feature a Featherweight title fight between Alex Volkanovski and Brian Ortega; however, the bout was postponed because of COVID-19 protocols. The co-headliner will now be a Welterweight showdown between Tyron Woodley and Vicente Luque.
