Mike Tyson is coming to a boxing ring near you. That’s if you live close to Miami, Fla., and looking to see the former heavyweight champion of the world continue his comeback tour.

Tyson, 54, made a long-awaited return to boxing in Nov. 2020 when he met Roy Jones Jr. in what was considered an exhibition match. There wasn’t really anything “exhibition” about the fight as both men unloaded heavy leather for eight total rounds.

While the bout was ruled a draw it was a smashing success in other ways. Not only did the fight bank 1.6 million PPV buys, but it proved that “Iron Mike” is still a fighter people want to see, whether he’s washed up or not.

Now, Tyson is preparing for another stopover inside of the boxing ring. This time the former heavyweight king is expecting to compete in Miami, Fla., sometime in late May.

“End of May. Where you fought,” Tyson told Canelo Alvarez during a recent episode of his Hot Boxin’ podcast. “May 29, something like that. May 31.”

Tyson, who has already been linked to a potential trilogy bout with rival Evander Holyfield, is excited to get back in action and ramp up his output. Remember, Tyson’s fight with Jones was his first action in over 15 years. After getting another taste “Iron Mike” feels rejuvenated and capable of so much more.

“I felt better than I anticipated,” said Tyson during a previous episode of his podcast. “I thought I would be a little nervous than I was. And I was really relaxed.

“I felt like, ‘Wow, I could do some more, punch more combinations. I could do this, do that...’ And I said, ‘Wow, this is interesting,’ then I said. ‘Wow, I want to do it again. And I want to do it with someone I could go really a little bit all out on.’

“It made me interested in wanting to do it again.”

We will have to wait and see if Tyson is able to come to terms with Holyfield for a trilogy fight or if someone else will step in to fight the former knockout king. Either way, expect “Iron Mike” to make another appearance inside of the boxing ring in a matter of months.
