Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad face off today (Sat., March 13, 2021) in a main event Welterweight clash from UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC Vegas 21. After a hugely extended layoff (thanks COVID-19), Edwards will finally make his return to action, though it’s not exactly the title eliminator match up he likely had in mind. Instead, he’ll wrangle with “Remember The Name,” one of the most consistently tough outs at 170 lbs. There’s a chance Edwards can still earn a title shot given a remarkably “spectacular” performance, so hopefully that fuels an incredible main event between these two veterans.

Strap in for tonight’s main event and follow along below for live updates and highlight clips:

Round One

Edwards opens with a pair of nice body kicks. Clean left hand from the Englishman. Muhammad stuffs a takedown and lands a glancing elbow. Big head kick from Edwards rocks his opponent, but Muhammad survives the following flurry. Good jab scores from Muhammad, followed by a solid body kick. Edwards answers with a ripping body kick of his own. 1-2 from “Rocky,” then an overhand. Big elbow on the break of a clinch closes a strong round from Leon Edwards.

Round Two

Edwards lands a simultaneous liver kick and eye poke, and Muhammad’s eye is in trouble. Muhammad is openly sobbing, and this fight is completely done.

Result: Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad is declared a “No Contest”
