‘Cruel b*tch’ — Frankie Edgar reacts to brain-scrambling ‘bomb’ landed at UFC Vegas 18

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar doesn’t have “The Answer” to his recent struggles, which account for a 4-5 record in the years following his UFC 200 loss to then-featherweight champion Jose Aldo, but it doesn’t sound like Edgar is going away quietly.

Or going away at all, for that matter.

“I’ve licked my wounds long enough, I’m home with my family and life is good,” Edgar wrote on Instagram. “On Saturday I was as prepared for a fight as I could have been. Props to Cory Sandhagen he landed a perfectly timed and executed bomb on me, luckily I don’t really remember it much lol. This game can be a cruel bitch and Saturday night was just that but I ain’t panicked I been here before.”

Edgar recently changed weight classes for the second time in his MMA career, dropping down to bantamweight for the final chapter of his combat sports career. Unfortunately for “The Answer,” his UFC Vegas 18 co-main event ended with a flying knee knockout loss in just 28 seconds.

“Thank you to my family, team, and friends who really are all one in the same for continually giving me the love and support it takes to be a fighter,” Edgar continued. “The loyalty and unconditional love and guidance you all give me is truly unbelievable. I love you all more than you know. To my fans who always ride with me I appreciate you all and you (make) this fun for me. Till the next time, see you all soon!”

Edgar (24-9-1) turns 40 later this year.
