Jairzinho Rozenstruik will look to collect his second straight win in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight division this Saturday night (Feb. 27, 2021) when he takes on Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC Vegas 20.
Winner of four of his first five fights inside the Octagon via knockout, “Bigi Boy” has left a trail of destruction during his short time competing inside the world-famous Octagon. Among the notches on his belt is former 265-pound champion, Junior dos Santos.
In Aug. 2020, Rozenstruik and dos Santos exchanged haymakers on UFC 252’s pay-per-view (PPV) main card, which featured a trilogy title fight between 265-pound champion, Stipe Miocic, and former title holder, Daniel Cormier.
For the first five minutes, both big men were cautious in getting overzealous to avoid getting clipped by the other man’s bombs. In the final few minutes of round two, however, “Bigi Boy” decided it was time to ramp up the aggression and began to increase his output.
During a late exchange, Rozenstruik tagged “Cigano” with a right hand that dropped him, and then followed it up with a heavy dosage of ground-and-pound to put an end to the fight. Now, “Bigi Boy” will look for another impressive stoppage win in an attempt to inch himself closer to title shot consideration when he takes on another rising Heavyweight in Gane.
