Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is close to finalizing an interesting Welterweight match up between former division champion, Tyron Woodley, and top contender, Vicente Luque. According to MMA Fighting, the fight is expected to go down at the upcoming UFC 260 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is scheduled to go down on March 27, 2021 (likely inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada).

Woodley is in desperate need of a win after dropping three straight at the hands of Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns and Colby Covington, who he lost to in his last fight in Sept. 2020. Prior to his skid, “The Chosen One” was on a six-fight win streak, including three consecutive 170-pound title defenses.

His skid took him down a few pegs in the rankings and put a dent in his case to be known as the greatest Welterweight of all time. That said, a win over Luque would be a great way to turn things around.

As for Luque, he is currently riding a two-fight win streak, knocking out Niko Price and Randy Brown in back-to-back outings. Overall, he has won eight of his last nine fights inside the Octagon.

UFC 260 will feature the long-awaited Heavyweight championship rematch between division champion, Stipe Miocic, taking on Francis Ngannou. The co-main event will see Alexander Volkanovski defend his Featherweight strap against Brian Ortega, while Johnny Walker and Jimmy Crute are expected to throw down in main card action.
