Misha Cirkunov vs Ryan Spann rebooked for UFC Vegas 21 on March 13

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced that a Light Heavyweight bout between Ryan Spann and Misha Cirkunov has been added to the upcoming UFC Vegas 21 event on March 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two men were set to throw down at UFC Vegas 17 last December before the bout was scrapped after Cirkunov bowed out with an injury. By the time fight night rolls around, it will have been a year and a half since the last time the Russian-born fight competed inside the Octagon, defeating Jimmy Crute in September of 2019.

As for Spann, he is looking to rebound after suffering a first round knockout loss at the hands of Johnny Walker in Sept. 2020 (see it here), which snapped his eight-fight win streak, including his previously-undefeated record (4-0) inside the Octagon.

Also added to the card is a Featherweight bout between Charles Jourdain and Steve Garcia, who is looking to score his first win inside the Octagon after coming up short against Luis Pena in his promotional debut. As for Jourdain, he fought to a draw with Joshua Culibao in his last UFC fight.

The additions are a welcome sight for the ESPN+-streamed card after losing its original headliner between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev. As a result, Belal Muhammad agreed to step in and take the fight against “Rocky.” In addition, a fight between Ryan Hall and Dan Ige was canceled after Hall suffered an injury during training.
