Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to action once again this Saturday night (Feb. 20, 2021) to stage UFC Vegas 19 inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will feature a long-awaited Heavyweight showdown between heavy hitters Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes.
Before then, let’s take a look back at “The Black Beast’s” most recent win against Aleksei Oleinik, which went down at UFC Vegas 6 in Aug. 2020. Early on, Lewis founds himself in a grappling match against the long-time veteran, though he used his brute strength to toss Oleinik to the mat.
After spending half the round in top position, Lewis found himself on bottom after “The Boa Constrictor” got back to the feet and scored a takedown of his own. After being held down for a bit, Lewis managed to get back up and score some hard shots before getting taken down to his back once more. He eventually spent the rest of the round fending off countless submission attempts.
In the first five seconds of round two, Lewis attacked with a flying knee to the chest and immediately followed it up with a vicious right hand that dropped Oleinik. From there it was all she wrote because “Black Beast” unleashed some vicious ground-and-pound that put his foe out for the count. Now, Lewis will look to score a trip back to another title fight by taking out Blaydes in what is sure-to-be a hard-hitting affair.
