Anthony Hernandez flipped the script on submission expert Rodolfo Vieira earlier tonight (Sat. Feb. 13, 2021) at UFC 258 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “Fluffy” stopped the Brazilian fighter with a beautiful second-round guillotine choke.
Vieira quickly took Hernandez down and started to implement his world-class grappling skills early into the first. Hernandez was put into some scary positions, but “Fluffy” defended them all and was able to get back to his feet. Vieria was so exhausted from the grappling exchanges that he opened himself up for massive strikes. Hernandez took advantage and scored heavy shots before the bell sounded.
In Round 2, Hernandez pulled off the impossible. The 27-year-old prospect was able to grab a hold of a tight guillotine choke during a scramble on the ground and applied serious pressure. Vieira defended for a few seconds before surprisingly tapping.

This is easily one of the biggest upsets we’ll see all year and it happened just a few weeks into February. Hernandez is known for his own grappling skills — having finished six of his eight pro wins by way of submission — but he was a 30-1 underdog to submit Vieira at UFC 258. Simply incredible.
