Let’s try this again.
After Dominick Reyes was forced to postpone his Octagon return, UFC matchmakers have rebooked his light heavyweight showdown against Jiri Prochazka, this time for the upcoming “Fight Night” main event on ESPN+ on May 1, 2021 at either APEX in Las Vegas or Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.
That’s according to a report from MMA Junkie.
Reyes (12-2) blasted his way to the top of the 205-pound mountain with 12 straight wins, nine of which came by way of knockout or submission. Unfortunately for “The Devastator,” his two subsequent title shots to Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz ended in defeat.
Prochazka (27-3-1) migrated to UFC after a terrifying run through the ranks of RIZIN in Japan. “Denisa” — winner of 11 straight — lived up to the hype by destroying Volkan Oezdemir at the UFC 251 pay-per-view (PPV) event last July for his 24th knockout in 27 wins.
Also putting pen to paper for the promotion’s May 1 fight card are featherweight bangers T.J. Brown and Kai Kamaka III. Elsewhere on the card, Dean Barry goes to war with Mike Jackson while Poliana Botelho gets up close and personal with Ji Yeon Kim.
