No fighter stays undefeated forever unless they retire first. Even then the lure of coming back for “one more fight” and a big payoff can blemish an otherwise perfect record. Between the wins and losses, though, a fighter can go an incredibly long time before he or she takes another “L,” stacking up win after win on an increasingly impressive campaign.
Bellator MMA currently has its own crop of “longest active winning streak” members, starting with “MVP” Michael Page, having won four in a row dating back to taking his first loss against Douglas Lima. He’s tied with “Strabanimal” James Gallagher, who also took his first loss against Ricky Bandejas at Bellator 204, and the hard-hitting “Miss Dynamite” herself, Denise Kielholtz.
From there the totals get more and more impressive. “Black Ice” Joey Davis feels like a sure contender in the Welterweight division with eight straight Bellator victories, but even that pales in comparison to the unblemished Featherweight star “Mercenary” A.J. McKee at 17-0. Will that streak continue if he ultimately faces Patricio Freire for Featherweight gold?
