Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veterans Mike Perry and Frank Mir are among those plying their trade in Triller’s latest combat sports venture, Triad Combat.
The inaugural Triad Combat event takes place on Sat., Nov. 27, 2021, inside Globe Light Field in Arlington, Texas. The card will broadcast on FITE pay-per-view (PPV) with an expected price tag of $29.99. The promotion will pit mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters against boxers in a triangle ring.
Get it?
Triad Combat is described as “revolutionary, new combat team sport which incorporates boxing and MMA rules in an aggressive, fast-paced manner with the fighters competing in a specially designed triangular ring over two-minute rounds featuring professional boxers competing against professional mixed martial arts fighters,” according to a press release published by MMA Fighting.
Perry (14-8 in MMA) — who recently signed a deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) — and former UFC Heavyweight champion Mir (19-3 in MMA, 0-1 in boxing) will compete. Former two-time European Heavyweight boxing champion and world title challenger, Kubrat Pulev (28-2 in boxing), will take part in the event, too.
Perhaps the most Triller-esque aspect of the card is the inclusion of a Metallica concert. Advanced tickets go on sale Fri., Nov. 5, 2021, in the $50 to $300 range.
