Knockout! Corey Anderson obliterates Ryan Bader, punches ticket to Grand Prix finale in 51 seconds

New, comments

Corey Anderson was doing a lot of talking leading up to his semifinal bout against Ryan Bader that didn’t sit too well with “Darth.” But when the time came to put up or shut up Anderson delivered.

Both men came to the center of the cage rather quickly looking to get the first strike in. During a brief exchange, Anderson clipped Bader with a left hand behind his ear that dropped him.

“Overtime” quickly pounced with some ground-and-pound looking for an early finish. Bader seemed to escape danger momentarily before Anderson unleashed a second wave of punishment that was simply too much for Bader to overcome.

And it took all of 51 seconds.

Anderson punches his ticket to the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix finals and will face the winner of the headlining title fight between division champion, Vadim Nemkov, and late replacement, Julius Anglickas. After eight years as fighting as a pro, Anderson will finally get his chance to fight for gold, and possibly walk away with a $1 million payday.
